IS TSA PRECHECK AND GLOBAL ENTRY RIGHT FOR YOU?
Imagine breezing through the airport security line, not having to remove your belt and shoes and keeping your liquids and laptop in your bag. Welcome to TSA PreCheck. When returning to the US on international flights, expedite passport control and customs with Global Entry. The application process is simple. Go online and answer some straight forward questions, list all the countries you have visited in the past five years and submit your application. When notified you are approved, schedule an interview at a Global Entry office at most US international airports. You will be asked to show your passport, one other form of ID and your approval email. You may have to confirm information answered on your application and your driving record may be checked for violations. Your fingerprints and a photo will be taken. Your Global Entry card will be mailed to you and is not required to be shown when flying. Your personal "Known Traveler Number" on the back of your card is important and should be input into every international flight profile and booking to be able to take advantage of the program. Global Entry also automatically covers TSA PreCheck on domestic flights. UNITED AIRLINES BASIC ECONOMY FARES
In February 2017 United Airlines launched their Basic Economy fares in limited markets, offering the following attributes:
No seat selection, seats assigned by United at check-in no guarantee groups or families will sit together.
No full-sized carry-on bag and only one personal item that must fit under the seat in front of you.
No changes and no refunds except as stated in the United 24-hour flexible booking policy.
No upgrades and certain MileagePlus member benefits are are not available.

US BANS TABLETS AND LAPTOPS ON FLIGHTS FROM EIGHT MIDDLE EASTERN COUNTRIES
The Department of Homeland Security has announced new carry-on restrictions that prevent US bound passengers from eight Middle Eastern countries from carrying personal electronic devices larger than a smartphone in the passenger cabin. The list of Muslim-majority countries includes Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. Nine airlines impacted by the order are Royal Jordanian, EgyptAir, Turkish Airlines, Saudia, Kuwait Airways, Royal Air Maroc, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Ethiad Airways. A similar ban has also been introduced in the UK. If the airlines fail to implement the changes within 96 hours, the Federal Aviation Authority could revoke their clearance certificates, which would ban them from flying into U.S. airspace. No US airline is affected by the ban because none currently operate direct flights to and from the above destinations. Read reactions and more on this ban.
