E-TRAVEL TIPS AND INFORMATION

By Bob Rosenthal, April, 2011.

Dear Travel Friend

Every month, Travel Travel will email you up-to-date travel industry information which should not only be interesting but could affect your future travel arrangements and decisions.

In the past weeks, airline fees have been in the news. Airline fees, when added to the base price of your airline ticket could make a huge difference in the final total cost of your flights.
AIRLINE FEES
Begining in 2008, airlines have been charging consumers ancillary fees made up of preferred seat selection, ticket changes, pillows & blankets, meals & beverages and other a'la carte services, which have resulted in $23 billion in profits for the industry in 2010. This year is likely to be a year of change for ancillary revenue for airlines, as consumer rights advocates call for more transparency and the US Department of Transportation considers new airline fare disclosure requirements.
Travel Travel has formatted airline consumer fees into individual airline catogories, to make it easier for our clients and consumers to check how these charges will affect fare pricing comparisons for each airline.
