PACKING FOR YOUR TRIP

Pack important articles in your carry-on luggage.
That would include prescription medication, eyeglasses, travel documents, and enough clothing and toilet articles to keep you going for a day or two should your luggage get lost in transit.

Bring a compact, lightweight travel bag.

You know you're going to do some shopping! And few of us leave enough space in our luggage for all our gifts. So pack a small tote or bag with you to carry all those must-have items you pick up during your journey.

Carry extra batteries and film.

Sometimes you'll find that the batteries your camera uses simply aren't available overseas. And film tends to be very expensive, so carry at least one extra battery and a few rolls of film.

Some packing suggestions.

We can't tell you what to pack - much of your decision depends on your method of travel, time of year, etc.  As for any trip where you're sightseeing, you'll want to pack comfortable walking shoes, and dress in layers to accommodate changes in temperature. It's always a good idea to bring one or two nice outfits as well for evenings out in cities or if your tour includes a cruise. And we do have some great gadgets and ideas that have served our travelers well through the years.

You might want to consider bringing
·A small book of photos, so that you can share your life with the people you meet
·Give-giveaways such as caps or souvenirs form your hometown; or crayons, stickers, pens and pencils for children
·Heavy-duty zip-lock travel bags to carry all you leakable items
·A small "day" pack to carry your camera, purse during the day, and even an extra sweater
·A facecloth
·Safety pins
·A small flashlight
·A sewing kit

·Anti-bacterial cleansing liquid
or towels
·Toilet tissue, because many foreign bathrooms don't keep it in stock
